Step aside coffee – Tea is better for your health! Teas are chock full of flavonoids, polyphenols and other healthy goodies. “There doesn’t seem to be a downside to tea,” says American Dietetic Association spokeswoman Katherine Tallmadge, MA, RD, LD. “I think it’s a great alternative to coffee drinking. First, tea has less caffeine. Secondly, it’s pretty well established that the compounds in tea – their flavonoids – are good for the heart and may reduce cancer.” After water, it is the most widely consumed drink in the world.

GREEN TEA - (Caffeinated)
The benefits of green tea are well-known and plentiful. It’s one of the most consumed drinks in the world and also known as the ultimate anti-aging beverage.
Green tea is one of the most well-known types of tea and is linked with many health benefits making it one of the healthiest teas we can drink. Because it is made with steamed tea leaves, there is a high concentration of EGCG (epigallocatechin gallate or EGCG). In addition, it is thought to reduce inflammation, aid weight loss, and help prevent heart and brain disease. It's also one of the most effective teas for weight loss as there is substantial evidence linking green tea to decreases in both weight and body fat. When it comes to immune-boosting, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant drinks, green teas are at the top of the list.
There are many types of green tea, with Sencha being the most popular and Matcha green tea gaining popularity because of its high antioxidant content.
BLACK TEA - (Caffeinated)
Made with fermented tea leaves, black tea has the highest caffeine content and forms the basis for flavored teas like chai, along with some instant teas. Many people drink black tea just because they like it; however, it may be used for alertness and energy, antioxidants (including polyphenols and catechins), possible anti-cancer effects, heart health, improved metabolism or for gut health.
More research is needed, but there’s some evidence black tea may lower your risk for the following conditions: diabetes, high cholesterol, kidney stones, Parkinson’s disease, osteoporosis and cavities (dental caries).
WHITE TEA - (Caffeinated)
This type of caffeinated tea is one of the most minimally processed. It is harvested while the plant is still young, leading to a very distinct flavor. The white tea taste is often described as delicate and slightly sweet. Since it is not rolled or oxidized like other types of tea, it tends to have a much lighter flavor.
White tea is abundant in polyphenols, catechins and antioxidants. For this reason, it has been associated with a host of health benefits, from increasing fat burning to fighting off cancer cells. White tea also has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antiaging properties and can prevent early wrinkles.
One cup of white tea contains approximately twelve (12) times as many antioxidants as fresh orange juice. White tea also contains less caffeine than green tea so if caffeine tends to make you jittery, white tea may be the better choice.
OOLONG TEA - (Caffeinated)
Oolong tea is a product made from the leaves, buds, and stems of the Camellia sinensis plant. This is the same plant that is also used to make black tea and green tea.
Drinking oolong tea or other caffeinated beverages throughout the day seems to help maintain alertness and mental performance. Combining caffeine with sugar as an "energy drink" seems to improve mental performance better than either caffeine or sugar alone. While Oolong tea is relaxing, it contains vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and may improve gut health. Oolong Teas have many benefits.
HERBAL TEA - (Caffeine Free)
Herbal teas are caffeine free infusions of various non-tea plants which may include flowers, herbs, spices, and other roots. These teas have been used for thousands of years for their great taste and medicinal properties. There are hundreds of different herbal teas from which to choose), all with varying tastes and benefits. These benefits may range from treating a cold, to relieve stress, to anti-aging properties. Because most of these plants are caffeine-free, herbal tea is a flavorful, nutritious option that won’t keep you up at night or elicit an unwanted buzz.
Herbal teas are some of the healthiest beverages you can drink. The vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants found in many herbs have shown to provide many short and long-term health benefits. These teas can be a great alternative to your daily sugary and caffeinated drinks, while still providing great taste and a natural boost to your day.
Herbal teas are popular beverage choices when it comes time to relax and unwind. For years, chamomile tea has been used as a natural remedy to reduce inflammation, anxiety, and treat insomnia. Lavender is an herb often touted for its soothing/calming scent, to relax, settle nerves, and aid sleep. According to ORAC measurements, the tea that has the most antioxidants is hibiscus tea (flor de Jamaica, which is the Spanish name). When brewed, its ORAC value is 6,990. That’s over 100% higher than the best quality Matcha! It’s at least 400% higher than green, black, and white teas.
ORGANIC TEA - (Caffeine Free)
Organic teas have gained in popularity because they are raised in a safe environment, free from pesticides, chemicals, bio-engineered genes and petroleum. People with allergies may find that their symptoms lessen when they start drinking Organic teas. As with other teas, Organic teas have an abundance of flavonoids, polyphenols and other healthy goodies.
ROOBOIS TEA - (Caffeine Free)
Rooibos tea, a traditional caffeine-free South African brew, is gaining popularity in other parts of the world and has many benefits. Tea-lovers like its flavor, which they describe as smooth and sweet, with a hint of vanilla. It also blends well with other ingredients. However, there's more to rooibos tea than taste. South Africans have used rooibos tea for medicinal purposes for centuries and now scientists are looking into its health benefits. Rooibos tea has zero calories when consumed without milk, sugar, honey, or other added ingredients.
Rooibos tea contains vital minerals including calcium, iron, magnesium, zinc and alpha hydroxyl acid. As with most true teas and herbal teas, it also contains high levels of vitamin C along with powerful antioxidants such as aspalathin that offer extensive health benefits. Rooibos tea contains polyphenols that help to fight free radicals, keeping your body healthy and ready to tackle the day. (Aspalathin is a unique flavonoid that can be obtained solely from rooibos tea. It's most widely known for its potential to prevent type-2 diabetes, the potential to reduce the risk of Alzheimer's disease, and the potential to alleviate feelings of stress. It can benefit the body as a whole, especially the immune system.)
PU-ERH TEA - (Caffeinated)
Pu-erh tea is a unique type of fermented tea that’s made from the leaves of a tree known as the “wild old tree.” Although there are other types of fermented teas like kombucha, pu-erh tea is different because the leaves themselves are fermented rather than the brewed tea. Many people drink pu-erh tea because it not only provides the health benefits of tea but also those of fermented food. Pu-erh tea may promote weight loss, may increase beneficial gut bacteria, may improve cholesterol, may inhibit cancer growth, and may boost liver health.
